The Sock goes 150! Club champion @prendy3010 had a few words to share about our club favourite @nmessinis23 leading up to the game tomorrow! “Arrrhh Pirate Sock 150 When Sock came to the club, he was this young kid still playing in the under 16s, even from then, it was clear he was someone who loved the game and his club deeply. Whilst he may not have been the most talented player, Sock is without doubt the most determined individual who will get the most out of himself and what a little career he’s having. He’s my premiership skipper and someone our young players can count on at all times. I’m super proud of him, we all are. Sock has ticked a lot boxes In his pirate journey, played ones, lead and captained the clubs first 2s flag, mentoring our juniors - always doing it in style. Every club need people like Sock, massive congrats on your 150, please continue to be you, never change. Never stop learning and growing, be the best you can be on and of the field you deserve everything that comes you way with the work you put in. ROUND 5 | MPCA CRICKET RESULTS The round that was, the 1st remain undefeated with another classy win over the strong Long Island side lead by another amazing effort by ever green @dylanomalley9 - 97* - and Mr Reliable @adamgailitis with another 3 wickets to his name! Great work boys, let’s keep this momentum up 👊🏻 For the 2nd’s it was great to just back on the park with only their second game in the first 5 rounds. Unfortunately, the boys suffered their first defeat but there were certainly some encouraging signs throughout the game. @will_labrooy continued his good run with 40 and was well supported by @parsons787 (35) and @archie.sturt (32). In reply the older, more experienced opponent were able to chase down our 6/156 in 35 overs however it was great to see young guns @will.forrest94 and @lucas_cross123 with a couple wickets and a great run out - the future looks bright with these boys involved! All in all, still a very positive start for the Pirates faithful - onto this weekend against Baxter! GO PIRATES 🏴‍☠️🏏

☠️☠️Proud Pirate News☠️☠️ Young Pirate Harry Wallace has been selected to play in the U17 Victorian Country team! This is a huge achievement for young Harry! Harry has also been named the captain on the Frankston Peninsula Under 17 Dowling Sheild Team which in itself is a massive accomplishment. He's another Pirate lighting up the pitch and we couldn't be prouder of him.

Tomorrow is a big day at the Harry Mac. Get down to see our 2021/22 1XI flag be unfurled before we take on Long Island in what will be a great game. Premierships are hard to win, so make sure you’re there tomorrow as we celebrate our most recent success. Go Pirates 🏴‍☠️

🏏🏆 Round 1 | Jack Peacock Cup Pirates remain undefeated this season! Having lost the toss and been told to bowl first, the pirates started on 🔥 with early wickets to @adamgailitis & @dylanomalley9. The middle overs saw a few boundaries hit by the talented Baden Powell side, however when the momentum was the in the balance, Captain Crowds threw the ball to HOF duo @pirateox & @pirate_pelz. Together, they combined with 5/30 with Wade taking the big scalp of Rhys Elmi & John chiming in with a BOG performance of 4/10 - Amazing from these two again! With 9/111 on the board, we went out to bat and Dyl started in typical Dyl fashion with a flurry on boundaries before he was dismissed for 23. The innings was held together but the young Sam Ede holding the fort with 14 while we lost a couple wickets around him. With the game in the balance, in came.. Justin Grant! The (Saturday) Skipper went about his business and was his typical best on his way to 46* and hit the winning runs in the final over.. bit of a pump up for Juz as rumours are circulating he wasn’t happy that he missed out on the BOG award! 😂 Another great performance by our pirates, we can’t wait to see them continue their strong form tomorrow vs Red Hill GO PIRATES 🏴‍☠️

Jack Peacock Cup Returns! Round 1 starts tomorrow night against the talented Baden Powell Cricket Club 🏆 Very exciting to see brothers @jackcurt1s & @lachiecurtis playing in 1’s together. Pirate community, get down tomorrow night and cheer our boys on!

🏏 🏴‍☠️ || Round 1 - Results || - 1st XI - What’s the best way to start the Club Championship & 1st XI defence - Starting 2 for 2! 🏆 Our skipper Justin Grant lead from the front in our 1st with an MPCA competition best for the round 92 off 82 deliveries. Juz was well supported by our heavy hitter @dylanomalley9 who managed a destructive 51 off 32 and @zakbauerr who stood up at the crucial moments with a well played 36. Having set a total of 227, Baden Powell were put on the back foot when the emerging @harryvanraay took his first wicket of the year with the 3rd ball of the innings! From there, BP put on a couple partnerships, however when the game was in the balance @jameslabrooy & @dylanomalley9 stood up to take the wickets Dale Elmi & Luke Long. After the important run-out of Dales brother Rhys, it was the HOF Pirate @pirate_pelz who became the man of the moment striking with 4 late wickets to seal the game for the pirates - what a start for our 1’s! - 2nd XI - Another season, another year our 2’s are lead by Pirate Favourite @nmessinis23 and he got his year off to a good start winning the toss, electing to bat and beginning his year with a solid 18. Our seconds are full of young talent and there was no surprise to see the exciting pair of @tahran_holmes who begin his year with a composed 36 and @bailey.payze who contributed with a dashing 19. After some late contributions from @matt_stone24 (16), @ccphotographyyy (11) and @max.quill (17) the Pirates put a very competitive 6-149. With the modest total on the board, the Pirates needed to start well it was the swing king himself @tommmmmyshayler who got the boys off to a good start and ending with figures of 4/18 (8). After the early breakthrough, there was an even contribution from fellow emerging pirates @harry.wallace.__ and @max.quill but when the team needed some late heroics, it was the man himself @danbeal76 who finished BP off with 3/8 (3.3) to finish the game and get our seconds home with the W. Well done Pirates - can’t wait to get into Round 2!
