Pirate Young Guns

β€œProud day for our 2nd X1 Vice Captain and U/16 assistant coach Charlie Collopy playing along side 3 of our gun U/16 players in Matt stone, Will Forrest and Leo Steenholdt. Not only did our 2nd X1 score a resounding win over 2nd placed Sorrento, but the kids were on fire! Matty crafted 22 runs batting at 4 in a pivotal partnership with Will Labrooy after Will Forrest (3/22 off 8) and Leo (1/18 dismissing their top scorer) helped dismiss Sorrento for 122. Proud day for the boys and the club! The future is bright”

What’s better than one pirate century? Two pirate centuries! A huge congratulations to Dylan O’Malley (122 1sts) and Brandon Lawler (103* 2nds) on adding another century to their respective tallies! The 2nds defeated Baden Powell 3/203 chasing 10/159 and the 1sts defeated Baden Powell 4/220 chasing 8/219 - Go Pirates

Round 1 | Jack Peacock Cup

Pirates remain undefeated this season!

Having lost the toss and been told to bowl first, the pirates started on with early wickets to @adamgailitis & @dylanomalley9.

The middle overs saw a few boundaries hit by the talented Baden Powell side, however when the momentum was the in the balance, Captain Crowds threw the ball to HOF duo @pirateox & @pirate_pelz. Together, they combined with 5/30 with Wade taking the big scalp of Rhys Elmi & John chiming in with a BOG performance of 4/10 - Amazing from these two again!

With 9/111 on the board, we went out to bat and Dyl started in typical Dyl fashion with a flurry on boundaries before he was dismissed for 23. The innings was held together but the young Sam Ede holding the fort with 14 while we lost a couple wickets around him.

With the game in the balance, in came.. Justin Grant!

The (Saturday) Skipper went about his business and was his typical best on his way to 46* and hit the winning runs in the final over.. bit of a pump up for Juz as rumours are circulating he wasn’t happy that he missed out on the BOG award!

Another great performance by our pirates, we can’t wait to see them continue their strong form tomorrow vs Red Hill!
